Gail Williamson

Panelist

Gail Williamson never imagined when her son Blair received a diagnosis of Down syndrome that he would lead her into an unprecedented career. While Blair’s acting resume grew he introduced his mother to the entertainment industry; there Gail recognized the value of inclusive images and what they taught society. Gail has since dedicated her career to changing public opinion one role at a time.

Gail shares her vision with others by serving on industry panels, speaking to groups in the media or disability industries as well as participating as a consultant to many organizations, individuals and productions.

In 2018 Gail was honored with the Media Access Awards’ NORMAN LEAR/GERI JEWELL LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD. She has received many other honors over the years, but maybe most impressive was her honor in 1999 as the NATIONAL MOTHER OF THE YEAR, from American Mother’s Inc, the Congressional named U.S. sponsor of Mother’s Day.
