Gabe Weil is a 27-year-old who was born with the most severe form of muscular dystrophy. For his entire life, Gabe had been told he would be lucky to live past 25. But recently, he learned he was misdiagnosed, and might live well into his 50s. Although this news was overwhelmingly positive, it presented a surprising obstacle: Gabe did not have any long-term goals. He was forced to rethink his life from scratch. This radical shift in consciousness propelled him to set new goals, continue facing reality, and manifest more dreams.

organization located in New York City and builds customized equipment for kids
and adults with disabilities, mainly using cardboard. The film portrays the
organization’s mission through the compelling stories of two fascinating
individuals. Among The Giants causes viewers to question what it means to solve
problems, be creative and impact the community all while working with cheap
and easily accessible materials.

All Day

However, with the decline of the auto industry in neighboring Detroit, Lott is threatened with closure. The company has twelve months to reinvent itself. ‘A Whole Lott More’, a documentary feature, follows Lott’s critical year from the perspectives of three unique and unforgettable people – Wanda, TJ and Kevin. The film looks at the range of employment options available to people with developmental disabilities and details the incredible contribution they can – with the right support – make to the working world.

A Life with Aspergers

A Life with Asperger’s’ is an animated documentary that explores the challenges of growing up and living with Asperger’s Syndrome.
It is a voice over narrative that demonstrates that Asperger’s is not simply ‘being a little awkward’, rather it is about adapting to one’s limitations in the face of anxiety and isolation. The technique is a collage of photography, rotoscope, animated characters and live action footage.
